Update #2 for July

So soon? Yeah.

I got a lot of progress done on the trilogy (Body, Mind, and Soul) remixes (body², mind², soul²), so I uploaded the new versions. Biggest change is to mind² which is effectively no longer a trance song. As a friend of mine put it, it’s a trance song with a DnB/Breakbeat feel. Hybrid genre for the win.

Regardless, the songs are at the somnium² page, so go check them out! Oh, I also decided to post higher quality tracks for y’all. <3

Still working on getting that bit to work on mobile devices that don’t support Flash, though…

A Little More Progress

Started a couple new somnium² projects: soul² and shadows². I’ll be posting what soul² currently sounds like a little later on tonight, so keep an eye out for it!

Also, I’m looking for a guitarist to record a bit on After the Storm’s re-master and its remix, after the storm². I had intended for a guitar solo to be featured in the track back when I released Somnium in 2007, but that never happened, unfortunately. So, since I’m bothering to make everything sound better in the album, I figured I might as well see if someone would be interested.

Yes, you’ll get credit on the album(s). And I don’t mind two different people soloing for the two versions of ATS. Regardless, if you are interested, please contact me as soon as possible.

As for other projects, they’re sorta at a standstill until I either get more ideas, though I have been listening to a lot of DnB music lately, so…

Also! If you’re viewing this site on a mobile browser (For example: iPhone OS, Android, or Blackberry), it’ll show a mobile-themed version of the site. Navigation is a bit different, but it should work out the same for the most part.

If you’re a regular visitor, you likely have noticed that music links are now playable here at the site. Sorry it took me so long to do that. I needed to find a way that was intuitive for both me and you the listener. With the new system, I’ll be posting tracks as I work on them, so you can hear how things progress.

Also, there’s a new listing in the Discography now, titled Primus. What is it? Well, it’s a collection of my oldest works (along with songs that didn’t make it onto Somnium). As you may have guessed, the song Primus is certainly featured on it. There are three different versions of the song on there.

Go and grab it! It’s free for you to enjoy.

Site redesign (Sorta)! And progress update.

Well, I changed the theme of the site a bit, I think it looks nice with the blue instead of the bronze. Let me know what you think.
(It’s come to my attention that the site isn’t always displaying properly, just push Ctrl+F5 on your keyboard, and it’ll fix it.)

As for progress, I’ve found myself getting into DnB music more, so I’ve been working a bit in that style, but not completely.

The Somnium and Dawn to Dusk pages are up and such. I might put Primus back up, but I’m not really sure yet at this point. It never really was an album. Rather, it’s a semi-ordered compilation of my oldest works. What do you all think? I can easily add it in, but at the moment I see no reason to display it here on the site.

Aside from that, I’ve nearly finished a song, and I’ll be posting that here and at the various other places I post my music at soon enough. Look forward to it within the week!

Oooh, what’s in heeere?

As you can, obviously, tell… the site has definitely changed. The design isn’t quite finished, but I basically said screw it to the old design and started messing around with one of the WordPress themes. As you can probably tell, I did some fairly extensive tweaking to the default theme. It looks good, and, over the next weeks, it’ll slowly adapt and evolve a bit more.

For now, though, I’m really happy with it. It looks really… professional. I’ll have the new album pages up soon.

Good Idea, Bad Idea

Good idea: Andrew from NeoCode Networks, the guy who’s helped me code a good bit of this site, suggested that I end up making the entire site based on the software the blog uses. I thought that it was a great idea, so… that’s what we’re gonna do. It’ll make updating the site an absolute breeze, as well as cleaning up quite a bit of the problems I’ve had over the years.

Bad idea: I’m not exactly the most skilled with PHP and CSS styling. As the French say, “C’est la vie.” It’ll get done in due time. Just have patience with me.

On a musical note, I’m considering starting a new album. Not sure, though. I need to fix my ridiculously slow cycle of starting and finishing songs, first. Hah.

This was a triumph..
